Vitamin D won’t work without Magnesium! New Research
Something that I’ve spoken about for years, and why magnesium inclusion in a Vitamin D supplement is extremely important.
Vitamin D supplements are all the same, right?!
Wrong!
Muhdo Hub Vitamin D3 is a world’s first and genetically designed to help regulate hundreds of genes and longevity pathways.
Simply having higher dosages of nutrients such as Vitamin D does not equate to more benefits and/or greater absorption.
Our D3 provides other essential co-factors such as K2, Magnesium, as well as Boron and Sulforaphane to uniquely enhance the absorption, activation, and bioavailability of Vitamin D.
It is also housed in MCT oil (as both Vitamin D and K2 are fat-soluble) with an innovative delayed release liquid capsule combo/soft gel.
Why have we included Magnesium Taurate with Vitamin D?
Magnesium plays a significant role in supporting vitamin D absorption and metabolism. Magnesium is a cofactor for numerous enzymes involved in the activation and function of vitamin D, while taurine provides additional benefits by supporting cellular health and reducing oxidative stress.
Together, they create a synergistic environment that enhances vitamin D bioavailability and efficacy in the body.
Magnesium is essential for the enzymatic conversion of inactive vitamin D (cholecalciferol or ergocalciferol) into its active form, 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (calcitriol). This conversion requires the enzymes CYP27B1 (1-alpha-hydroxylase) and CYP2R1, both of which are magnesium-dependent.
Without sufficient magnesium, vitamin D cannot be fully activated, reducing its effectiveness in calcium absorption and other physiological processes.
Vitamin D enhances calcium absorption in the gut, but magnesium is required to regulate calcium transport and maintain calcium homeostasis. Magnesium Taurate ensures that calcium is properly utilised and stored, preventing potential imbalances.
Taurine stabilises cell membranes and promotes osmoregulation, ensuring optimal conditions for vitamin D receptor activity. Additionally, taurine helps reduce oxidative stress, which can otherwise impair vitamin D metabolism and signalling.
Magnesium influences VDR activation, a critical step for the genomic and non-genomic actions of vitamin D. Magnesium Taurate provides the magnesium needed to enhance VDR-mediated gene expression, while taurine protects cells from oxidative damage, ensuring sustained VDR activity.
